She Found Film! Eureka!
She started her film career in a high school AV production class.
This is where she learned the basics, and I stress the BASICS. Ideas were ambitious; outcomes were... interesting, but nevertheless, she was bit by the cinema bug.
First Big Break
She was hired to do my first professional gig. She made my first ever piece of commercial video for Carnes Realty Group.
Soon after she was commissioned to produce a commercial, Lisa Carnes hired me to do remote social media management and content creation for her company.
On to College!
She spent the next two and a half years at the
The University of North Texas working towards a
Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts.
Film at a collegiate level was so much more fantastic than a high school filmmaker could ever dream it would be. She learned how to operate film and audio equipment for the professional field, how to write a script that surpassed a 10-page limit, and, most importantly, how to point out every cinematic detail she saw in a movie to family, friends, and strangers.
She earned more than just a degree.
College showed her her voice &
the importance of passion.
I
Graduate Alert!
She graduated from the University of North Texas
Summa Cum Laude with a
Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts!

Fresh on the Scene
Once she graduated, Sydney spent her time trying her hand at everything she could.
She took photos, performed live comedy, and wrote....and wrote...and wrote.
I
Watch out Austin, TX!
After her "back gap year" of exploration, she moved to Texas' capital to explore creation on a more serious level.
She performed numerous live shows with Funny and Funny Lookin', her improv troupe at The Hideout, an improv theater, and hosted various live events, including music bingo, trivia, and game shows, at Game On! ATX.
It wasn't just live performance that Sydney was getting up to; she also worked on many independent short film sets, both as an AD and as a production designer. Her role as AD was for the short film Spare Me, which won Best Picture at Austin's 48-Hour Film Festival.
Austin was a pivotal point in Sydney's creative journey as she tackled art forms that she had never done before like: costume design and music production. After about a year in Austin, Sydney applied for UCLA.
